Linda Faye Oberbreckling, 66, of Coggon, Iowa, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2016, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Linda was born on February 28, 1950, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Gerald and Shirley (Cozart) Gates. She was raised and educated in the Winthrop area, graduating from East Buchanan High School in 1969. Linda then attended N.I.T.I. in Peosta for two years.
On July 26, 1969, Linda was united in marriage to Daniel Oberbreckling at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lamont. Four children were born to this union. They lived near Winthrop for over 35 years before moving near Coggon in 2009. After raising her children, Linda worked at the Sisler Insurance Agency in Coggon for 13 years.
Linda liked attending concerts and listening to country music. She enjoyed gardening, watching birds, especially hummingbirds, and caring for her grandchildren.
Survivors left to cherish her memory include her husband of 47 years, Daniel Oberbreckling of Coggon; her children, Angela Faust of Troy Mills, Bernie (Stacey) Oberbreckling and Jason Oberbreckling all of Coggon, and Melinda (Brian) Bildstein of Ryan; seven grandchildren, Daden Oberbreckling, Jayce Oberbreckling, Otto Oberbreckling, Jacob Faust, Ella Oberbreckling, Kasten Oberbreckling, and Braxton Bildstein; and five siblings, John (Sheri) Gates of Eagle Grove, Ann Gates of Raymore, Missouri, Gerald (Diana) Gates of Aurora, Allen (Debbie) Gates of Vanceboro, North Carolina, and Janice Patton of Raeford, North Carolina.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Robert in 1979, Roger in 2003, and Chris in 2015.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2016, at Troy Mills Christian Church in Troy Mills, Iowa. Officiating: Pastor Don McGarvey
Visitation: 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Manchester, Iowa. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
