Betty Mae DeKeyser, 98, of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2017, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. Betty was born on May 19, 1918, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of William and Bessie (Seeley) Gage. She was raised and educated in the Greeley area.
On September 1, 1934, Betty was united in marriage to Julius “Joe” DeKeyser in Greeley. Three children were born to this union. The couple farmed together in the Manchester and Edgewood area. They later owned DeKeyser Antiques in Edgewood. Joe passed away on December 28, 1997. Betty moved to Manchester in 2005.
Survivors include her two sons, James (Kino) DeKeyser of Manchester and William (Peg) DeKeyser of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joe DeKeyser; her daughter, JoAnn DeKeyser Bruns; her grandson, Theodore Moleski-Kane; and her six siblings.
